29th Bargaining Update

Dear campus community,

In today's bargaining session the Administration made counter-proposals on Compensation and Positions, Titles, & Promotion.

One of our top bargaining priorities has been job security for all, including AYALs, which is why we have been fighting to increase the conversion of AYALs to RTLs. In this session, the administration agreed to convert 25 AYALs in the first 2 years of the contract and we countered with 35. The difference of 10 matters a great deal because it is a matter of our colleagues’ job security and ability to participate more fully in SCU.

The Union's most recent Compensation proposal:

-Bonuses: $1,500 for QALs; $2,500 for AYALs; and $3,000 for RTLs and Senior Lecturers

-Raises:  8% in Sept. 2024; 6% in Sept. 2025

Our proposal also includes a compensation floor, and a $5,000 hiring bonus for new AYALs.

The Administration's most recent Compensation proposal:

-Bonuses: $1,500 for QALs; $2,500 for AYALs; and $3,000 for RTLs and Senior Lecturers

Only three topics of bargaining remain, with 27 tentative agreements reached. Our next bargaining session will be 4/23.
