UPDATES!

This summer, we will be electing our union officers for the first time! Note that only members of the union can participate in the election process. Please see the attached document for the Notice of Officer Chapter Elections proposed by the Election Committee. The document includes all the details, but here are a few key dates:

July 15: Deadline for candidate nominations

July 17: Deadline for nomination acceptance

August 13-15: Online voting is open for all officer positions, 9am - 9pm

August 16: Announcement of election winners

After winning our union election in 2022, surveying Santa Clara University adjunct faculty and lecturers on their priorities, and electing our bargaining team, we entered negotiations with the university’s administration for our first union contract. The first bargaining session was held on January 26, 2023; to date, we had 33 bargaining sessions.

On Thursday, May 16th, after 16 months of negotiations, we voted to approve our first union contract with a 97.8% approval. This historic contract is our first with SCU as a union! Click here to read the press release.
